Discover Dynamic Hot Yoga with Priti Barua

Dynamic hot yoga combines classical yoga positions with sports science to offer a new breed of exercise which is in tune with each individual body. Priti Barua is a regular attendee of dynamic hot yoga classes in the Brighton and Hove area. The Dynamic Hot Yoga studio was founded approximately ten years ago by Stuart Tranter and offers classes designed to suit any and all fitness levels, allowing each participant to work at their own pace and to the level of their own abilities. As a dentist Priti Barua is naturally very health conscious. Dynamic hot yoga takes place in a room which has been heated to approximate internal body temperature, which encourages the body to sweat and makes muscles easier to stretch. Stuart Tranter and the other experienced yoga teachers work with people at every level, from those simply seeking a way in which to get fit whilst also being able to relax and unwind to top athletes training for world championships in running and triathlons to people living with debilitating spinal injuries.

In a typical dynamic hot yoga class each participant is encouraged to work at their own pace. Instructors demonstrate each move on several levels from beginner to advance, while even those who choose to just sit in the warm room and watch for part of each session are happily encouraged. As a non-competitive exercise, yoga is highly accessible and encourages people at all levels to attend the same class and experience the more advanced moves through observing others before reaching that level themselves. Due to the temperatures which, while not as hot as in Bikram yoga are still pretty warm, participants are strongly encouraged to drink water throughout and after the session and to replace lost fluids and nutrients after each session with coconut water, regular water and bananas, all of which are available to purchase at the reception. The studio also hires towels and yoga mats to those who have forgotten theirs or who want to try a few sessions before purchasing their own equipment. Priti Barua and other regular attendees are now able to access classes seven days each week, including two new early morning classes on Mondays and Wednesdays for those who like to squeeze in a quick session before work. More information on yoga will be soon available on Priti’s wordpress blog.
