The Dow Jones was up 0.15 at 17,992.29, The S&P 500 was up 0.12 at 2,111.03 and the tech-heavy Nasdaq rose 0.12 at 5,128.br Latest numbers on US consumer spending showed a monthly increase of 0.9, the biggest gain in six years and accelerating from April's 0.1 rise.br Oil and gas producer Magnum Hunter Resources shares rose 21.4 after it said it expected to raise $600-$700m by selling its 45.5 stake in its natural gas gathering subsidiary, Eureka Hunter Holdings.
