Texas teen faces EIGHT YEARS in prison for sarcastic Facebook comments

Justin Carter, then 18, and a friend got into an argument with another person on Facebook over League of Legends, a multiplayer online battle arena game, when Carter made a sarcastic comment about committing a massacre at a school.br br "Someone had said something to the effect of: 'Oh you're insane, you're crazy, you're messed up in the head,'"Justin's dad Jack told Austin, Texas television station KVUE. "'To which he replied: 'Oh yeah, I'm real messed up in the head, I'm going to go shoot up a school full of kids and eat their still, beating hearts,' and the next two lines were 'lol' and 'jk.'" br br Unfortunately for Justin, the post was seen by a woman in Canada who apparently lacks a sense of humor and did not know that LOL means "laughing out loud" and JK means "just kidding." Using Google she tracked down Justin's former address, which was near a school, and called the police. br br Justin was arrested and has been in jail since March 27, where he spent his 19th birthday. He's been charged with making a terroristic threat and faces up to eight years in prison if convicted, his dad says. br br Justin's parents lanched a petition on Change.org to "Release Justin Carter and Change the Investigative Criteria for Terroristic Threat Laws.
