Bridal Registry Checklist: The Jars Ceramics Collection at la Terrine

Manhattan wedding specialist, Caroline Baroody, presents the newest collection of dinnerware at la Terrine (www.laterrinedirect.com). Founded in 1857, the Jars Ceramics collection has both contemporary and classic handmade pieces. The Vuelta and Plume collections resemble the colors of sky and water while the Tourron collection has bolder colors in shades of orange, red and green; perfect for mixing and matching. These pieces are all fired once at a high temperature of 2240F making them very durable, chip resistant, microwave and dishwasher safe. The Jars Ceramics collection is now included in la Terrine’s bridal registry checklist. br br Transcription: br br Jars Ceramics is a dinnerware company that we've been carrying at la Terrine for years. It was founded in 1857 by Pierre Jars in the south of France which still remains its home today. There is a meticulous attention to detail in the products that are made. Each piece of dinnerware is then passed through the hands of the ceramics 17 times before it is actually completed. One really unique quality of the jars is that its only fired one single time whereas most porcelain and china takes up to 3 different firings. The temperature that its fired at is 2240f which you can see is a very very high temperature which this technique ensures perfect ware quality. Thanks to the special clay mixture that they use, the unique single fire process, the product is very very durable being chip resistant, microwave and dishwasher safe. Some best collections at la Terrine are the Vuelta, Plume and Tourron. The Vuelta and the Plume feature glazes similar to the colors of the sky and water. Overglaze is applied in dilute form trace the journey of the glaze down the side creating a pool at the bottom of each plate or bowl which then creates a speckled, blooming effect in the bottom which is really lovely. Sharp edges and clean runs of the Vuelta give it a contemporary and classic design. The plume collection has a scalloped edge giving it the impression of waves and clouds that gives it a little more of an organic look. The Tourron collection, which has made jars famous, this dinnerware showcases bold and sophisticated glazes and gives a distinctive crackled look, features really bright colors such as orange, reds, greens and aquas which is a really really lovely collection and great for mixing together. Jars remains true to the founders creative vision they continue to evolve and create new designs and I can’t wait to see what they come up with next.
