Typhoon Soulik hits Taiwan

ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATIONbr br PLEASE NOTE: EDIT CONTAINS CONVERTED 4:3 MATERIALbr br Typhoon Soulik killed one police officer and damaged buildings in Taiwan on Saturday (July 13) after it swept through the island bringing strong winds and torrential rain overnight.br br Fifty-year-old police officer Chen Chin-jong died after falling bricks caused a serious head injury as he returned home from duty early on Saturday morning.br br A fire broke out at a factory in New Taipei City, but no one was injured.br br Soulik caused floods in the north-eastern parts of Taiwan, leaving more than 780,000 households without electricity.br br As of 0215 GMT, Soulik's centre was located 60 kilometres (37 miles) north-west of Taiwan, moving at the speed of 25 kph (15.5 mph), according to the Central Weather Bureau.
