Armen Georgian speaks to Paul Melly, Associate Fellow in the Africa Programme at the Chatham House think tank in the UK. Melly says there are interesting second-ranking contenders in Mali's presidential election who almost certainly won't win, but who will shake up the debate. These include former ministers, party political players and women candidates who could put basic development and women’s issues on the national agenda.
