Tehri Dam as seen before the floods

This is a view of the Tehri Dam as seen before the floods of June 2013. The water level is extremely low. After the cloud-burst, the dam filled up to capacity and large sand bars were seen in the middle of the waters, testimony to the siltation and silting-up that has happened in the middle. This means the dam's working life is coming to an end. Even more alarming, its capacity to hold water and prevent down-stream damage gets drastically reduced henceforth.br br This footage is part of the professionally-shot broadcast stock footage archive of Wilderness Films India Ltd., the largest collection of HD imagery from South Asia.
