A recent study confirmed that the majority of the time females spend checking out other people is spent eyeballing the other ladies.

Admittedly, part of it is for shopping purposes – checking out how bags, shoes, and hairstyles look in person.

Most of it, though, is to size up the competition.

One psychotherapist delivered the news with brutal honesty when she said, “… the harsh reality is that it’s a cattle market out there and the commodity is male attention.”

The head of a popular matchmaking agency said that when women subscribe to the service, one of the first things they want to know is what the other dating women are like.

So, when women are looking at another woman’s hairstyle, what they’re mostly investigating is if it’s more attractive than their own.

The competition also includes aligning oneself with the most powerful team.

Apparently, that’s where all of the complimenting comes from – winning over the alpha female, as being in her good graces is said to give one status.
