Damascus Syrians welcome U.N. chemical arms eradication vote

Fighting between rebels and government forces rages on in Damascus suburbs.br br New amateur video shows armed men in the trenches engaged in a firefight in Eastern Ghouta.br br Other video appears to be the aftermath of a car bomb that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says killed at least 20 people and wounded dozens more.br br Reuters cannot independently verify the videos, which were posted on a social media website.br br The fighting comes despite a major diplomatic breakthrough at the United Nations.br br On Friday, the U.N. Security Council adopted a resolution to rid Syria of its chemical weapons.br br Syrians in Damascus are calling the resolution a positive move.br br (SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) MOHAMAD, A DAMASCUS CITIZEN, SAYING:br br "As a citizen I welcome the resolution because it means that we will get rid of weapons. This means that I do not have to worry that these weapons may be used for other goals. I welcome the resolution just like everybody else.
