Hundreds of entrants competed for best facial hair trophies at the annual World Beard and Moustache Championships in Germany on Saturdaybr br Competitors gathered to win in categories like Best Dali Moustache, Best Freestyle Moustache, Most Fashionable Beard, Best Goatee and Best Sideburns.br br The championship has taken place every two years since 1990. It especially rewards elaborate beard styles and moustaches.br br Juergen Burkhardt, the competition organiser, explained: “The participation is unbelievable, they have come from all around the world, from 20 countries. There are over 300 participants, much more than we expected,” he mused.br br Brandon Biggins, Head of Philadelphia Beard and Moustache Club told euronews: “I’ve won some competitions in the States so I decided to take my beard globally and see if I can do anything over here,” he said.
