I kept my car but did not reconfirm the loan per the advice of my attorney. My payments are current and I am able to continue to make them. However I just discovered that this will not be reported to the credit bureaus. It will merely show that it was in the bankruptcy. It is a 98 Mitsubishi galant with pretty high mileage. I owe 3k. Should I surrender my car and get a new one? My credit it obviously screwed and I have no money for a down payment. My interest rate on this loan is still pretty high because I was in similar shape when I bought it. It would be awesome to not have car payments next year but I am looking at lots of rust and repairs and screwed credit. Or I could turn it in, which sucks but hopefully rebuild my credit and get a better car.
