I was offered a settlement however I had to pay the total at that moment. Obviously, I do not have the money. This collection agency is telling me that if I do not come up with this money now, or at least a big portion of it, that this will go to court and I will be sued. I am curious to know if there is any kind of legal action I can take to stop this, try to make payments now that I have a job again, and maybe try not to file bankruptcy. They told me though that even filing bankruptcy wont stop this going to court, and they are not willing to budge on this. But there has to be at least something that I can do.
