Obama grants turkeys reprieve from stuffing-filled fate

(SOUNDBITE) U.S. PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA SAYING:br br "Generally speaking, Thanksgiving is a bad day to be a Turkey..."br br In the yearly White House Thanksgiving tradition, U.S. President Barack Obama pardons two two turkeys.br br (SOUNDBITE) U.S. PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA SAYING:br br "Popcorn, you have a full reprieve from cranberry sauce and stuffing."br br The White House said Popcorn was elected this Thanksgiving's top bird by voters who voted for #TeamPopcorn on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.br br This year's 38-pound gobblers came from Minnesota, and were selected from a group of 80 turkeys that beat the competition and made it to the White House.br br The rest might not enjoy such a stuffing-free fate.
