Find the best financial services for you at: SMARTFINANCESOLUTIONS.NET - If you are 23, and are pregnant (living in Texas with your parents) why do they require their incomes for WIC? - I was denied for WIC when I had my daughter (I did not apply while pregnant - stupid me) and was denied because they insisted that I include my mother's meager income. Ridiculous because my mom was under bankruptcy status and paying through the roof for her house so I was paying her! They still would not listen. I ended up getting approved through Medicaid - I do not believe they made me include my mother's income - and got instant approval for WIC, thank goodness. I was on it until my daughter turned 1, I got a raise, and no longer needed it. However, I have a friend who is in the same boat I was and want to know if she can do what I did. Medicaid doesn't ask for parents income right? And if you get it, you get WIC right? She is 23 living with her parents, and pays her own way. The father is, guess what, in complete denial that it was an 'accident' ...
