In this edition: reports of violent clashes between police and protesters in Ukraine; a Londoner launches an online campaign to find the man who saved his life; and a billiards trickshotter in a pretty impressive display.br ONLINE REACTIONS TO UKRAINE VIOLENCE br Ukraine’s opposition leader and former boxer Vitali Klitschko speaks to protesters through a loudspeaker, trying to reason with them and stop clashes between them and the police. But his appeals for calm go unheeded and he is sprayed with a fire extinguisher.br br This was Sunday, demonstrators had gathered in Kiev’s Independence Square for a pro-Europe rally and also to protest against new laws aimed at stamping out anti-government demonstrations. Clashes erupted when protesters stormed the police cordon and tried to push their way towards the Ukrainian parliament and police retaliated with tear gas and stun grenades.br Social networkers have since posted documents online attesting to the standoff. In this amateur video footage for example, we see two riot police officers being beaten by a crowd of protesters armed with sticks.br Supporters of Ukraine’s pro-Europe movement which began around two months ago have condemned the violence. This message which has been doing the rounds on Facebook is urging demonstrators to protest peacefully.
