Family album is a film about people of whom nothing is left but their names. br br The fate of my family-Polish Jews-is forever linked with life and death of millions of others. br br Pre-war photographs, sent to relatives overseas, often miraculously survived, unlike their owners. br My family, too, was almost completely annihilated. They left not even photographs behind. br br For a long time, I have been considering how to express the enormity of my loss. Surrounded by the multitude of pictures, documents, books and films created over the last half century, I had to find for myself some other form of expression. br And so I developped the idea of an album without a single photo.
