Back down to earth for US-Russian crew after six months in space

After nearly six months in space, the Russian-US crew of the International Space Station have come back down to earth.
The Soyuz capsule carrying American Mike Hopkins and Russians Oleg Kotov and Sergey Ryazanskiy came down slowly by parachute as planned and touched down in central Kazakhstan.
They men were quickly wrapped in blankets, with heavy snow and temperatures of minus 15 degrees celsius around them.
During their 166 days on the International Space Station (ISS), the team worked on 35 science experiments. They also carried an unlit Olympic torch for the 2014 Winter Games during a spacewalk in November.
A small crew remains in space and more members are due to arrive later this month.
