Denis Martindale - Arctic Spirits

Denis Martindale - Arctic Spirits

Two Arctic wolves as white as snow, br With eyes of black and gold, br Surveyed the landscape to-and-fro, br Amid their world so cold... br Just taking in the sights they saw, br Yet listening all the while, br For not one sign would they ignore, br Their hearts so filled with guile... br br The hunt was on, their lives to keep, br For Winter's mercies fade, br For now, it wasn't time to sleep, br Nor time to be afraid... br As long as they had eyes to see br And ears for them to hear, br Each moment was a mystery, br Of things both far and near... br br Each rustle could be just the breeze, br Or maybe their next meal, br To nourish them to fight the freeze br That every soul could feel... br Like Arctic spirits, vigils kept, br The two wolves stood their ground, br But woe to anything that crept br That these two wolves had found...
