Neil Graham Marsden - Death Of The Matriarch

Neil Graham Marsden - Death Of The Matriarch

Such mixed emotions flood my head br this day that one last curtain fell, br at last the matriarch is dead br now gone to burn where demons dwell. br br How might I grieve this passing light br who let her children’s souls be fed br to lions prowling in the night br whilst she lay sleeping safe in bed. br br Lucky are those you ploughed into br the safe, warm soil that shields their frames, br where broken bodies journeyed through br a landscaped place in lines of names. br br This life your loathing taught to me br was born of hatred and dismay, br yet through that long frayed veil I see br why I should force no tears this day.
