O Holy Spirit, dwell in me, br And drive away the evil ones, br So that I’m freed from temptations, br And concentrate on work for God. br br O Holy Spirit, be my guide, br All through my earthly life till death, br And fill my soul with grace enough, br That I don’t veer from righteousness. br br O Holy Spirit, protect me, br From foes that plan my destruction, br And block my progress, here on earth, br And make my mind crestfallen fast. br br O Holy Spirit, watch o’er me, br All night and day and when I’m ill, br And make my heart and mind steadfast, br So that, I tread the road to God. br br O Holy Spirit, inspire me br To follow conscience without fail, br In matters that can confuse minds, br Despite my knowledge and wisdom. br br O Holy Spirit, be with me, br Consoling when grief springs surprise, br And when my mind is much disturbed, br And drives me to sin’s ravines deep. br br O Holy Spirit, be my strength, br In everything I do for God, br And earn my heaven, while on earth, br And fetch more souls for God’s abode.
