Darrell Gahm - I have not truly suffered

I have not truly suffered, br surely, I have had many br bad days, bad months, bad years, br but, I have not truly suffered, br in our internal eye, br our personal grief is eternally br worse that those of our neighbors, br each heartbreak is worse than br any previously suffered, br each injury, each devastating loss br has no historical parallel br in our own eyes, br but, I have never marched br at force across great expanses, br leaving behind a home br built by countless generations br of my ancestral blood, br but, I have never been held, br tattooed, wasting away, br a skeleton man, dying br for another’s twisted world view, br but, I have never faced br a fire hose, been gnawed and mauled br by fire breathing police dogs br because I wanted to be viewed br as human, br but, I have never starved, br a face among millions in br an arid desert, br watching my child dissolve br into the soil as though br they never existed, br so, I have not truly suffered, br surely, I have had many br bad days, bad months, bad years, br but, none no worse than br those of a countless million br souls suffering everyday…br br Darrell Gahmbr br
