Leria Hawkins - Live And Let Die

Leria Hawkins - Live And Let Die

Alone and weary at the grave br Feeling weak, but acting brave br Saddened that it came to pass br It burned so bright, but didn’t last br br Love it seems, a fragile thing br Is fraught with thorns and bound to sting br Wrapped in strings, a crushing twist br Yet, can’t resist, the enchanting kiss br br What happened to seeds we’d sewn? br They’re buried deep and cold as stone br The unyielding heart beneath the clay br Rose up to sweep the dream away br br I woke to find the winds so harsh br The rain poured down to snuff the spark br No more to warm beside the flame br Yet echoes whisper a forbidden name br br I’ve fought my heart, to let it go br To leave behind the rain and snow br Time, they say will heal the ache br I have to bend, to stop the break br br Still…it hurts to watch it fade br I weep beside the looming grave br Then lay to rest the very thing br That gave me light; that made me singbr br Leria Hawkinsbr br
