My brother has cancer br He’s four years older than me br He’s all that I have left br Of my original family br br Medicine freaks him out br So in the hospital he goes br He’s also got dementia br How long he has, know one knows br br So I’ve been thinkin’ quite a lot br About our childhood together br It was just he and I br And our dad and our mother br br We played games constantly br Got in trouble when we’d fight br But that was a game as well br Our young world seemed so bright br br Mom was sick a lot it seemed br I learned to cook quite young br I remember when my brother br Wouldn’t eat the gravy I spun br br “I can’t eat this” he would say br “It’s got lots of lumps in there” br But now it makes me smile br So many memories we share.
