Francis Duggan - On Koalas Fighting

Francis Duggan - On Koalas Fighting

Out there in the front yard in the dead of the night br The koalas they grunt and they snarl as they fight br Quite cuddly to look at in the light of day br But their territorial disputes far rougher than play br With them there is far more than mere pride at stake br They keep me awake with the racket they make br Dispossession for a male koala is a tragedy br They live in danger without a territory br They snarl and grunt as they do fight it out br Wrestle and claw at each other and use teeth and mouth br A koala without a territory may as well be dead br For tonight's loser there are tough times ahead br They fill the night air with their hoarse warring cry br Whilst a November moon steals through the starry sky.
