Bijay Kant Dubey - Had I Been A Man, I Would Have Thanked God And Felt Myself Blest

I had a desire of becoming a man since long, br But sorry to say, br I could not be br What I had wanted, br The desire of becoming a man at least br Could not be fulfilled. br br What became I, mattered it not, br What I have become- br This pains me often to feel, br How inhuman have I grown br Over the passing years, br This cruel passage of time. br br I too had wanted to be a man, br A man in need of another man, br But sorry to see, br I could not be br What I had dreamt of br As for becoming a man br And it is really to find a good man br Though there may be many to be called so. br br Had I been, I would have felt myself blest, br Had I been manly, br A man behaving as a man, br At the giving and receiving end of his, br So human and humane, br I would have thanked God br As for making it, br But the company corrupted me br And turned I so much of being inhuman.
