King Solomon asked God for great wisdom, br To rule his subjects justly all his life; br He blundered not but did mistakes seldom, br And thanked God for this gift amidst his strife! br br God gives His special blessings to some souls, br But punishes them if promises aren’t kept; br God is ready to grant us many roles, br But won’t excuse if we had only slept! br br O God, I will not ask of Thee for wealth: br For, I can’t take it back with me when dead; br O God, I ask for just my soul’s good health, br Wisdom, contentment and a balanced head! br br God, give me faith unshakeable always, br To show the world your love and pleasant ways! br br Copyright by Dr John Celes 3-6-2006br br Dr John Celesbr br
