Sidney Johnson - When The Wind Blows

Sidney Johnson - When The Wind Blows

When the wind blows br In the tops of trees, br Singing its familiar song, br On the fragrant breeze, br The leaves dancing br Across the forest lawn, br Denuding the trees br Til all of them are gone, br When the wind blows br And chills the bones, br We close the heavy doors br Gather round the hearthstones, br Tell the tales of long ago, br Of winters we have passed br And heavy drifted snow, br When the wind blows br And we draw each other near, br Whisper our contentment br Sweetly in each others ear, br So many winds since birth, br Blowing gentle and strong, br Never cease until the end, br And then still blow along. br Wild and free our passing mark br Then steal away our breath, br Across the slumbering soul br Carried away quietly in death.
