Kevin Howell - Chain Letter

Kevin Howell - Chain Letter

I decided one day to send out a note br 'To each his own', I wrote br not expecting much of anything br but what I got back surprised me br a person writing of strange things br br They wrote: 'Do you remember laughing out loud br snatching raindrops from the clouds br or looking deep in someone's eyes br and thinking back of time gone by' br br I couldn't believe the audacity br of someone I had never before seen br but with what I read, someone, somewhere br had struck a chord with me br but I likened it to a flood br which sweeps in, and washes away br sent out a clear note of intent br first thing the next day br br 'To each his own', I wrote br but tell me an ordinary joke br or a harmless, everyday quote br someone anyone would say br to carry on from day to day br br But what I got back was the same thing: br 'Do you dance in dreams of moonbeams? br Lift your eyes up to the sky br and count the stars until midnight' br br I couldn't even think of such things br angels, stars and moonbeams br I then decided to end these notes br 'To each his own', I joked br br I then tended to my ordinary strife br a status quo man in a status quo life br when someone began to stir within me br of things long ago buried br br I then suddenly laughed out loud br an almost forgotten sound br I went outside and counted the stars br stretching across and wide so far br I then swore I could see moonbeams br and even tried to catch the rain br br I wrote my friend the very next day br the world opened to me in a new way br The response was simple as 1-2-3 br 'To each his own! ' br they wrote back to mebr br Kevin Howellbr br
