Kevin Howell - Forgotten Ship

A wind tossed ship lost at sea br heavy tempest blowing mightily br even that harbor light br which shines so bright br never to return my love to me br br The sea, that judgmental sea br claimed the one promised to me br and no one who heard it could explain br the mysterious sound the waves made br br The lighthouse searches the sound br for that forgotten ship never found br I walk the shipyard late and pray br to catch a glimpse of that familiar face br br When the evening settles down, I sleep br an empty place beside me br lately having the same dream br I remember only partially br br I hear a sound, forgotten yet familiar br I rise from my troubled slumber br and walk out to the open shore br which meets the sea as a door br br I then see a man dragged to shore br drowned, why nobody knows br someone says it was insanity br trying to swim out to sea br br The dream ends, I wake again br I listen to the sound the waves send br listening closer now to the bay br I hear my name called so faint br br © 2009 by Kevin Howellbr br Kevin Howellbr br
