MARINA GIPPS - Elegy in the Wind

MARINA GIPPS - Elegy in the Wind

A hymn trapped in the wind br after countless Sunday morning mantra, br heckling me until losing a piece of soul. br My unpurged confession appearing finally in epitaph. br (unabridged, first edition, unsigned, un-numbered) . br The words surviving the censure of seasons br br For I loved you like a horse wimpering in pain br for its abusive owner; br the saxophone of your voice affecting br our planetary alignment. br I loved you, your disaffected love br of everything not me. And so I wandered br up a hill to hide-only every seasonal storm br had found me, leaving me br more damaged than before. br br Weathering poorly as a pupil fearful br of learning one last time, I embraced br the forbidden spokes of the unruly br despite the fact I loved you br when the wind rose up to a funnel in a cloud br of grey dominion- and our town stood still.
