Deborah Ashdown - The Loss Of Benji

Deborah Ashdown - The Loss Of Benji

My guinea pig, I named Benji. br He was chocolate brown with short, shiny, sweet smelling fur. br Squeak squeak as I pass his cage. br ' Morning Benji, how's my favourite boy to-day? ' br I lifted him out of his cage to play, train him, I stayed with him, had fun all day. br For his treats he would sit up and beg, thank me with a squeak and crawl up my leg. br He sat on my shoulder, nibbled my ear. br His love was so innocent, it caused me a tear. br A tear of love and happiness, which changed one sad day. br I left him with my sister-in-law and boarded the plane, br for sea, sand, sex and a fun packed holiday. br From the moment I left, Benji chose his death. br He refused to eat, drink and play was now a long lost salvation on this earth. br It didn't take long for Benji to die. br I guess he tried to follow me into the sky. br Little did he know, I was to return. br He gave himslf no choice, lay himself down to die. br My love for Benji will be for the rest of my life. br I am so sorry your heart was broken and was laid down to die.
