Evelyn Macdonald - Reflections

Evelyn Macdonald - Reflections

As I gaze in the mirror, what do I see br A face that's familiar stares back out at me br A face that I've known for many-a-year br A face that's a friend and no-one I fear br A face that has weathered most life's ups and downs br A face that is sometimes creased with a frown br A face on the whole that is happy and glad br A face I can say to myself's 'not-to-bad' br br It's a face that I like and am comfortable with br To see someone else would just be a myth br As I gaze in the mirror, I resemble another br On looking at me, I now see my mother br The comfort this brings makes everything right br The face in the mirror, a welcoming sight br The face in the mirror now echoes the past br That time is too fleeting and ever too fast br As I gaze in the mirror of life as I'm prone br I see me and my mother, and am never alone.
