Dan Brown - That Night

Dan Brown - That Night

I still remember our night, my baby, br as we wrestled one another by the moonlight. br Naked, like the room around us; so sterilized br of feelings and emotions, that we each scrawled br our pain on the wicked white walls. br I want, I scream, to be free. But we are connected. br Joined by flesh; a vehicle taking my love for br you into your very soul, and as I push against you, br forcing you out, you resist with a strength not br to be expected of something so helpless. br The eyes of the world wait and watch, but br there is only two of us in this war. br br I still remember our night, my baby, br as I cradled you in my arms, each of br us crying conflicting tears. Blood, and sweat, br lubricate our pain, as the rain outside finds br us and washes away all evidence of our struggle. br You stand before me now, the focus all on br you, as it was the night of our first frightening encounter, br and as it has been ever since. br You stand before me, as vulnerable and as innocent as br you were, the moment you were separate from me. br I drown myself in your eyes, as they glare at br me, demanding I hold you like I did that night.
