New years day 2007 br br br Fifty years ago this very day, br I thought my life was at an end, br My heart and soul turned to clay br My wife abed with my best friend. br br In the wilderness for years, br Lonely, low in self esteem, br Very easy came the tears, br A broken heart, a broken dream. br br Then someone found me, dried my tears, br My broken heart she repaired. br Together over forty years, br The life was good, the life we shared. br br And now that she has gone away, br Far away into that silent land br We will meet again one day br Once more she`ll take me by the hand. br And be my guide.
