Jayan Krishnan - To All Contemporary Choppers

Jayan Krishnan - To All Contemporary Choppers

No more inside those walls you stay br To pass your time in sleep br Come down from where you waste all day br To gather glee in heap br br Awake from dreams and drowsiness br That all your prose bestow br Come down with hope and happiness br I have a heaven to show br br (b) br br Don’t run in first a fifty mile br In second or two feet br And words of you let hearts beguile br By constant fall and beat br br O sing like ding dong bells my men br As done by Tennyson br And enter not in Eliot’s den br Where darkness is the fun br br So sweet a world, so sweet a world br This singing world you know br Come down with hope that gleam as gold br I have a heaven to show br br (c) br br O leave your worthless verse and come br As sun from murky skies br And lighten stars by what you hum br A moon no soon will rise br br O come and cast new seeds of verse br Those bear but only bliss br Though seeds you sow are tender tears br When versed you feel a kiss br br No longer so you stay in dearth br Here golden crops do grow br Come down to dine and dwell in mirth br I have a heaven to show br br (d) br br No more so slice a petty prose br To call it but a poem br A prose is prose (as rose is rose) br And ne’er can be a poem br br No more in darkness so you stay br To chop a world of woe br Come down to lead a life in gay br I have a heaven to show.
