We Have Walked Along The River br by Barbara Lynn Terry br br We have walked along the river, br With thoughts of serenity and ease, br In the spring and the winter we'd shiver, br Because of the soft cool breeze. br br We have walked this river many times, br During the night and when the sun did shine, br We held each other's hand br As we kicked our feet in the sand, br Laughing, skipping and bouncing along, br A day of ease and fun away from the throng. br br We have sat there many times, br Waiting for a bite on our fishing line, br And didn't care if we caught a fish, br As we sat, looking at the stars br To make a wish. br br We have walked along the river.
