Karl Stuart Kline - (1.8) The Best of 2003 (written by request for the ILP book of the same name)

For a while I had my “Camelot, ” br Seventeen happy years with Peggy, br Who shared my disability and br Shared her Love, glorious Love with me. br br She passed away as I held her hand, br She was taken by deadly cancer br And when it struck, we did all we could, br But our prayers all went unanswered br br My constant companions had become br Depression, Despondence and Despair. br I wrote Going Without Peggy then, br But I always knew that Life’s not fair. br br So that was how it came about, br My writing was my salvation, br For when I had to work through my moods br I arrived at the realization br br That She’d not want me to be so sad br Or for me to fall upon my sword... br Happy for the Happiness I gave her, br Now my life is free to move forward.
