Herbert Nehrlich - Methane Gas

Herbert Nehrlich - Methane Gas

Their teacher loved his chemistry. br He knew that atoms had to be br prepared to join and thus create br new molecules with unknown fate. br br He taught his charges about gas br which is elusive while it has br no truly solid properties, br and that it loved the world of cheese. br br Well, Johnny, who had great ambition, br had read about atomic fission br and was, on could describe the lad, br a bit too nerdy, maybe mad. br br He always stood and volunteered br and mixed some stuff the teacher feared. br But on the day of the disaster br he built from scratch a methane blaster. br br He sat, in front of his own class br to prove the powers of a gas. br Had eaten beans and Sauerkraut, br two items that will want back out. br br He had aligned three Bunsen burners br to demonstrate to all the learners br what gaseous explosions do br he yelled 'now watch the flame turn blue! ' br br And with a roar and then a rattle br a cloud inside prepared for battle. br Now, within seconds, on command br it blew to smithereens his hand. br br Was followed by more heavy shells br and absolutely sordid smells. br And, as they say the yawn is catching br all pupils tried, and soon were matching br br the foul eruptions near the flames. br Their teacher knew that learning games br can be successful in this life, br he'd proven it with his own wife. br br Well, I am very very sorry, br there is an ending to this story br which won't become part of a thesis. br The gas blew all of them to pieces.
