David Harris - In Long Rows

David Harris - In Long Rows

Millions and millions of crosses br standing in long rows. br Standing as a testament br of man’s inhumanity to man. br Their ages range low to high, br all casualties of a war br in which they answered br their counties call. br Their kin are long dead now, br but the crosses all bare a name br of someone who had they lived br might have gained fame br in another game. br However, here they lie br where the pretty flowers grow br after giving up their life br for their country. br Some are remembered br even to this day br for their acts of courage br others knew so well. br The others are just names br carved in memorials somewhere br as falling in a battle on a foreign soil. br All of them had a life br men, women and child alike. br A life they should have lived br and lived it to the full. br Now all they remain br is names on crosses br standing in long rows. br br br 22 January 2008 br br This is for all those whose lives have been stolen in wars throughout the centuries.
