David Harris - The World Seemed On His Shoulders

David Harris - The World Seemed On His Shoulders

His head was bowed br and he shuffled quite quietly. br A deep frown across his forehead, br his smile he wore upside down. br The world seemed on his shoulders, br dragging him down and down. br br His friends all called out to him, br but silence was their reply. br He seemed a man lost to the world br with no place to go. br His job was an endless repetition br of things he had done too many times before. br br Home was just an empty room br where he could shelter from br each daily storm. br The world seemed on his shoulders br even when he went to bed br with a heart that sadness filled br br There was no bright light, br no one to turn, br his upside down smile around. br Just a sad empty man br who felt he shouldered the world. br br Years have come and gone br his life seemed to fade away. br Lines of age wrinkled him br to a forgotten figure. br No joy ever entered this life br of the man who shouldered the world.
