David Harris - Rowing Your Way

David Harris - Rowing Your Way

He sat under a palm tree br serenading his lady fair br when a coconut dropped on his head br and he sat with a blank stare there. br She whispered sweet words of nothing, br but he couldn’t hear a thing br only somewhere in the distance br he head a cuckoo sing. br She garland him with pansies br and he looked a proper prat, br then a big bird came along br and deposited something on his hat br and as it run down on his chin br he thought his lady fair br had given a gooey kiss to him. br Then he opened up his eyes br and much to his surprise br he found himself in a cooking pot br and his lady fair was cooking him. br The vegetables floated on the water, br which was getting hotter. br Oh my, oh my, he shouted br and jumped out of the pot br and into the fire. br He legged it as fast as he could br smelling the smoke of his shoes on fire. br The natives took to hot pursuit br as along the sand he ran. br Wanting to dive in the water br but the dorsal fins of sharks br looking for a tasty bite br made him think twice as he flee. br Now he was in a pondery of which way to go br caught between the cooking pot and the deep blue sea. br Then he saw his route to escape br someone had left a dingy br up there on the beach. br Pushing it into the water br he began to paddle like mad, br but the dingy had a hole in it br and right then he wished he could fly. br With one hand bailing br and one hand rowing, br he struggled on. br If he could reach the nearby by island br he figured he would be safe. br The natives from where he came br lit a fire and with smoke signals br told their brothers that dinner br would soon be rowing your way.
