Preston Simmons - Boredom

Preston Simmons - Boredom

I sit by myself br In a field br Far away. br nothing invades my space br Except the silence of the sun br And the cool air br Going into my chest. br The sun finally answers my question br One I had asked all day. br I asked how much time was left br And when my solitude would end. br br He answered me br By leaving br And beginning his watch br Over someone else. br Before he left, br He assured me there would be a guardian br Not too far behind. br His sister appeared as he vanished br And I saw her pale face br Too soon. br I was captivated by her glow br And I watched for the rest of the night br To see if she would give me br Any answer. br ~Written on 8 March 2013.
