Michelle Tiddy - My Friends

Michelle Tiddy - My Friends

Several people were sitting there br On the dock, with palms flat br On the weathered planks br Not talking, just breathing br Some with their eyes open br Some with them closed br br They were waiting for the moon br To go down and the sun to rise br From it's heavenly orbit br Just dipping their toes br And sharing their souls br br You see, they were fulfilling a promise br To share the morning together br Lined up, enjoying nature's harmony br And sharing their love br For each other and a grey-haired guy br br The gulls sang their own sweet melody br The salty air caught their breath br Occasionally they would turn and smile br Knowingly, warmly, heartfelt br br Friends dotted along the wood br Like spirits in the queue of life br Just content to be with one another br Away from their troubles and strife br br Who'd bought the guitar? br Which one was it that first plucked br Those strings, to make everyone sing br What was the song? My Friend... of course. br br Can you see them? What do you think? br These people, short, tall, happy, sad? br Can you feel them? Do you really wish br You could sit down with them and just be? br br My Friends, brought together by Taylor Hicks.
