Sandra Martyres - Puddles - Of a different kind

Little Reena wanted a puppy br Said she'd do anything to get one br Her parents were against the idea br And promised to compensate her br With other gifts, goodies or toys br If only she'd stop all that noise br About wanting a squealing doggy br But Reena would have none of it br She in turn offered to do her bit br By not eating sweets for a week br And keeping her room very neat br Her Dad's heart melted and br He finally gave in and led br Her to a pet shop not far away br Within minutes she was all smiles br A tiny pomeranian wagged his tail br And the child was sure he wanted her br She jumped up and down as her Dad br Settled the bill and carried the dog off br In a special basket with a rubber bone br And other puppy accessories but br What they did not realise was that br Puppies need to be trained and soon br On reaching home Reena let the pup br Run loose and sure enough there were br Puddles all around the room - her Mom br Was not pleased as she had to mop up br The Dad rushed out to buy a Dog Book br Before he returned his slippers br Had been systematically chewed up br He could only see the soles and a br Very flustered little Reena in tears br ' Dad I did not know that puppies br Can be more troublesome than babies br But please don't return him to the shop br I will help you and Mom to bring him up br I will train him to keep the house clean br You keep your footwear out of reach br And we will name him Puddles'br br Sandra Martyresbr br
