A pleasant though windy evening in early Summer br And the roses in the breezes nod and sway br I feel grateful for such a pleasant evening br It was so warm and humid yesterday. br br That's what I like about December weather br It can be warm for a week or more br Today we had a pleasant high of twenty br And yesterday a humid thirty four. br br In the warm sunshine of yesterday the birds were singing br The blackbird whistled on the wattle tree br They seem to know when the cool change is coming br There's more to Nature than the eyes can see. br br I love these cool evenings of December br The gardens looking greener after rain br The Summer showers to say the least refreshing br And the currawong is singing once again. br br A cool and windy evening in December br It makes a welcome respite from the heat br And the white backed magpie flutes his very finest br On the messmate in the park just off of the street.
