Richard Blanch - And all the Grass is as the Flesh

Richard Blanch - And all the Grass is as the Flesh

In the night comes a glow of a thousand sparks br Lighting joys which pass through the brooding mind br Of a hovering shade. There are boys, there are girls br Entwined in the dark where illicit smoke swirls, br Burning back tiredness and sleep. There are lines br Linking limbs, binding fine softnesses br Into a freedom, a communal preference br Wheeling and winding, gleaming and shining br Past laws and gender. An arc, a quintessence, br A lark in the heart. Only the wilfully br Blind pass untouched. But it frightens. It glides br Like a song round the spirit, confiding, enticing. br The grass is too sweet. Only the wide eyed can guide br Us, can find where we hide and stir us to seeing br And hearing. Look. They have turned back the tide br Of unbeing. They come, glossy-thighed, to welcome br Us in through the rind of the world.. It is time.
