Sadiqullah Khan - I Shall Drink

Sadiqullah Khan - I Shall Drink

I shall drink when the last stone br Pelted on me falls down br When the last dropp of blood br In my body shall speak the truth br When the pen and the ink br Has been snatched from me br I shall drink when the beloved br Like moon appears on the roof br And when like a ray of sun br Hides in the corners of the house br When the half covered face br And the dreamy eyes br Hold the cup of wine red br I shall drink when in the empty street br In the late hours of the night br The wayfarer searches for the abode br When tired out of a long journey br And in the darkness of the night br I shall drink when the tavern br And the saki in beloved looks br When the pitcher of wine br Pours to break the spell br Of unending thirst br I shall drink when the nature br In an abundant downpour br Brings down the rain of happiness br When the leaves in the autumn br Shall start falling, cracking br After a short spring and the flowers br Hiding their faces, and the grapes br Bloom, festivities of the autumn br I shall drink when the beloved br Dances to the beat of tambourine br When those hands shall move br Like tendrils and the eyes br Glow with passion br And when in an ode to life br The beloved moves like a swan br I shall drink when the perfumes br Of that beauty spreads over me br And when I am lost in the mystery br Of the thickness of those hairs br I shall drink from the eyes of my belovedbr br Sadiqullah Khanbr br
