Marilyn Lott - Tired Barns and Filling Stations

Marilyn Lott - Tired Barns and Filling Stations

If you live in a quaint country town br Or travel to other places br I’m sure you have seen at one time br Scraps and parts and traces br br Of old barns and filling stations br For some reason they still stand br After many years have gone by they sit br On worn out nearly vacant land br br It brings a tear to my eye ‘cause I know br They’re a shadow of what they’d been br Animals lived in these barns and worked br ‘Long side generations of farming men br br You can imagine what kind of automobile br Drove up these old filling stations br Something we only see in pictures br Certainly there were different creations br br But even though it’s almost over br For these structures could fall any time br I have to smile sadly because br They managed to live way past their prime!br br Marilyn Lottbr br
