Zero br Here in your hand br Is card number zero br This is the prologue br This is the introduction br Whatever you want to call it br It is only the beginning br And like our relationship br There will be more to come br One would hope br br One br It was that day br January the first br The trickling rain br Its knowing hiss br We took shelter br Under the big apple br The big white apple br I asked you a question br With the touch of a button br Smilingly, you said yes br And for a moment br It was only us br Only the two of us br br Two br Our midnight dance br The clock struck twelve br Loud cheers from the crowd br The sky, painted with colours br I held you up so you can see br The beauty of the starless sky br The fireworks draped across br The Eye paints the scene br You and I, and the sky br That makes three br br Three br A kiss on the cheek br Music in our ears br Cries of the friend of a friend br I’m leaving, she said br So she didn’t stop br We sat there, unsure br Unsure of anything br But ourselves br And in the room br There were four br br Four br There it was br A small heart br Just one heart br Each, one half br Both, connected br Two makes one br One makes us br And there it was br Our fingers br Five on five br br Five br In reflections, under the light br The smell of something new br We waited for it br Mirrors and lights br Amidst them we stand br We look at each other br And we smile again br Close together br Till we part again br Six days later br br Six br Hi there, pill br It’s card number six br One of sixth of the first br The final day of that week br That amazing week br Amidst the books br You rested on me br You looked at me br I was barely awake br We talked, we teased br It was cold br You said it was cold br The morning slipped in br And then br It was time to gobr br Jay M.
