Gone shopping for good brandy butter br My homemade plum puddings in need br I don’t want a tin of rum sauce mix br It just wouldn’t do no indeed br br Last night’s Christmas Eve rush was crazy br The shop had none left on the shelf br So I bought half a pound of best butter br To mix up with brandy myself br br My mixer took brandy and butter br It churned the lot up to a paste br I drank what was left of the brandy br As I don’t like things going to waste br br Everyone had a good dinner br With plenty of wine, port and sherry br But no one got fresh brandy butter br We all fell about slightly merry br br br © 2008 David Threadgold br Rambling Riddles
